I remember coming across an episode of ‘The Girls Next Door,’ which featured Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson as Hugh Hefner’s three girlfriends living in the Playboy Mansion and wondering how in the world anyone could live like this. The show made it seem like the girlfriends were like three BFFs who just happened to share a boyfriend, but the whole thing struck me as rather, well, bizarre. Now Holly is sharing her experiences in a new memoir, ‘Down the Rabbit Hole,’ and she makes it clear that it was NOT all fun and games.

Holly clearly has no love lost for Hef, describing him as “old enough to be my grandfather.” It may be true but OUCH.

She admits at one point, she seriously considered suicide while taking a bath, thinking:
If I just put my head under water and take a deep breath in, it would all be over.”
Holly said that life behind the gates of the Playboy Mansion was far from glamorous, saying they (I’m assuming she’s referring to herself, Bridget, Kendra, and Hef) were “vacant.”
Everyone thinks that the infamous metal gate was meant to keep people out. But I grew to feel it was meant to lock me in.”
She accuses Hef of pitting the girlfriends against each other for the “drama” and says insecurity about her looks led to her getting plastic surgery.
Maybe it was the pot and the alcohol, but drowning myself seemed like the logical way to escape the ridiculous life I was leading.”
I’m glad she took the other option of simply leaving Hef and the Playboy Mansion! Do you think you’ll be reading Holly’s book, ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’?
