Archie Panjabi Speaks Out On ‘Good Wives’ “Split Screen” Controversy

Do you watch ‘The Good Wife’? If so, then I’m sure you’ve heard about the “split screen” controversy. Archie Panjabi, who played Kalinda, departed the show this season, but she had one final scene with Julianna Marguiles (Alicia). The two women had been friends on the show until they had a falling out. Rumor has it that Archie and Julianna didn’t get along behind the scenes in real life. Anyway, for Archie’s final episode, she finally had a scene with Julianna again. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the two actually filmed the scene together.

There hasn’t been any official comment one way or the other from CBS or ‘The Good Wife.’ E!’s Marc Malkin got to ask Archie herself about it at the premiere for her new movie, ‘San Andreas.’ Archie had this to say:

All I can say is this: the decision making process is not something I’m privy to.”

She “could not deny the claims,” according to Marc, which we’re all basically interpreting as “Yes, the scene was CGI’ed.”

Perhaps it was a scheduling issue, but it certainly does lend credence to the rumors that there was a real-life rift between Archie and Julianna if they couldn’t even get together and film one scene.
