The start of NCAA Regional play is going to have to wait for the LSU Tigers and Lehigh Mountain Hawks, as rain came pouring down in Baton Rouge, delaying the game.
To make matters worse, the rain seemed to have caught the LSU Tarp Crew a bit off guard. As you can see below, the crew struggled with the tarp mightily, allowing the infield to get soaked before finally getting it covered:

To their credit, they took full responsibility for their poor showing on Twitter:
sometimes it's just not your day and sometimes the tarp doesn't cooperate. Today was both.

If you can't handle us at our worst, you don't deserve us at our best. Or something like that.

As for the cause of the crew’s snafu, multiple people are citing that the tarp being worked with is brand new and may be rolled weirdly, whatever that means:
The #LSU infield is soaked. Tarp crew still hasn't gotten it on . We won't be starting for a while.
This is a new tarp. Got it yesterday.

Remember that's a new tarp LSU is working with. Trouble probably stems from it not being rolled up properly

Once again, tarps prove they are not so simple to work with.
